October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month & to be honest before this year I hadn't a clue...Last October I was 7 months pregnant, my husband had already moved into our new home 7 hours away, I was working full time & Noal was 15 mths old...My worries were packing & selling a house, still fitting into heels for work, tracking down a cute Halloween costume for Noal & getting through the last few months of pregnancy...

Didn't even cross my mind that it was National Down Syndrome Awareness Month...Didn't even cross my mind that my baby girl might have Down syndrome...Didn't even cross my mind that one year later I would be passionately trying to bring awareness to something that is now very dear to my heart...

The Down syndrome community rev things up into high gear it seems- Many organizations run photo campaigns, calenders {Pip's in the Canadian Down Syndrome Society's} are sold, walks are walked & bloggers take part in a "31 for 21" Challenge...

You can read more about it HERE but basically to help do our part we blog everyday in October {31 days} to raise awareness of Down syndrome/Trisomy 21...

I know before even accepting the challenge that it will be absolutely impossible for me to do my typical, long-winded post every day- But a challenge is a challenge & I promise to do something...Whether that's a picture of Pip, a ShoutOut to another blogger after learning something interesting about Down syndrome through them, or whatever my little mind can come up with that day...

So, big ShoutOut to all you Down syndrome bloggers- how awesome are y'all for creating this so that we can play our part in bringing awareness...Thank you for always teaching me something...

I bloody thought World Down Syndrome Day was all we got & celebrated that one right up- Little did I know we get a whole month....Hello, awesome!!!

So Happy National Down Syndrome Month & here is "31 for 21" - Day One...

Pip was being just too adorable- so to start the month off with a bang- Here's more pics of the one who changed October for me forever...

Spread the love friends...Help bring awareness...
