As mentioned in the post from the other day- I truly believe y'all played your part in Pip's miracle...But another HUGE ShoutOut has to go to Dr. Maharajh & his fabulous Team at CHEO...
Through this unbelievable, stressful time in our lives, every moment spent with a medical professional talking about our daughter was unnerving...For the most part everyone we've dealt with in regards to Pip has been great- But by far, Dr. Maharajh & his team brought the most comfort to Craig & I...Within minutes of meeting them we both felt such a calming effect from his humbling confidence & gentle presence...

The thing that amazed us the most with this whole procedure was thankfully, Dr. Maharajh was able to correct Pip's heart by going in through her back, pushing her lungs gently aside & making an incision a little bigger than the size of my pinkie...Just amazing really...

One such article {you can find it here} quoted him as saying, "Dr.Maharajh is quick to deflect praise from grateful families: he points to the heavens when parents tell him he's saved their child. It's his way of saying he simply did his job, that God should get the credit."
To some people it may not have meant anything, but for me knowing this was the man performing a critical surgery, on a critical part of my daughter's little body, it brought some kinda peace...Knowing this man's heart was so good brought comfort that he was the one fixing my Pip's.
To me all those months waiting & trying to beef Pip up for the less invasive procedure, only to be told later she would have to have this one, in a way has been a blessing...We had the perfect doctor and team for us...I agree God gets the credit- and can't thank him enough for putting Dr. Maharajh in our lives in that exact moment when it was needed...So, thank you Dr. Maharajh & your God, my God & whomever else's God was helping...
And here is Pip with the picture she gave the team to hopefully bring comfort to the next mum & dad waiting in that little room...

WHAT A GLORIOUS HEALING..Thanks for sharing her with me..I look for the minutes I see her with you and Noal. I would give anything to hold her. ReplyDeleteBeautiful you have a beautiful little girl. I agree Dr. Maharajh and his team are awesome. Dr. Maharajh performed open heart surgery when he was nine months old, he is now a happy healthy 6 year old because I believe of Dr. Maharajh and his team, the whole CHEO team.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone...I agree with y'all- Fate/God has big plans for my baby girl....And so nice to hear from someone who also had Dr. Maharajh- Amazing man eh? And so wonderful to hear your little one is happy & healthy....
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more about Dr. M. My daughter Sarah, now 6 years old, also has Down Syndrome and had open heart surgery to close up 2 big holes and a messed up valve at 3 months of age at CHEO. The team was fantastic. That little waiting room filled with stories of hope helped us through the 9 hours of worries, fears & tears. Reading that little framed article about him, that he had faith in God and held the life of my baby girl in his hands...it made me feel that God was working through him. It gave our hearts some peace. I will forever be thankful for Dr. Maharaj and his team.
