I'm honestly one of those mommas who absolutely loves driving a minivan. Proudly...

I'm one of those mommas who truly thinks I am still cool and maybe even cooler because I drive one.

I'm one of those mommas you see in a parking lot trying to carry two kids...Only to then have to bust out in a walk/run combo, kind of like a trot, to find sweet relief in dropping them off inside the van doors...

I grew up learning to drive my parents van and always longed to be back in one going through my Neon, Sunfire and then my husband's random pick of cars...He picked me up once from the airport with what he thought would be a pleasant surprise but turned out differently when I questioned, "Where he rented the old man car from"...A deep cranberry, big-boat of an Impala would not have been my first choice.

So you can imagine my surprise when he tried again - But this time he did good...Real good...

To be honest when he pulled a sparkling white, dvd-to-keep-me-sane, stow n' go seats to lug my big mammoth size double stroller, coffee-sippy-bottle-cup holder galore, GRAND CARAVAN into the driveway, it was love at first site...

I adore being back in a van & this Big Girl with all it's bells & whistles is the nicest thing I've ever owned...So you would think I would be extra careful driving it...

Not so much. A few months ago not thinking, or maybe thinking too much, I revved er up real good and drove pretty hard into my husband's brand new car in the driveway...Without looking, even with a rear-view camera, I just assumed it was a snowbank and kept on pressing the gas in reverse...

Let's just say the damage was impressive & the husband was not. Especially when I tried to defend myself by saying, "Well at least no one got hurt", to which he couldn't help but laugh and say,"You were in the driveway, you weren't even going 1km an hour".

While his car took a beating, my precious Big Girl withstood the "crash" with only a tail-light to fix...A tail-light that I have been saving pieces from for months to get my husband good today on April Fool's...

His face when I told him, "I'm so sorry, it just happened again" showing him the pieces makes me giggle just typing this...

Seeing his absolute disbelief that someone could drive so bloody bad was worth hiding those shattered little pieces for months...

That being said I do have to give him major high fives for picking out a van so perfect for me...

A van that truly has played a piece like no other car has...One that has seen me toss goldfish cookies to my toddler like he's a puppy, without judging...One that has let me cry on her steering wheel, when a lady in the grocery store asked what was wrong with my daughter, who just happens to have Down syndrome.

One that has taken me to and from hospitals when my baby needed surgery after surgery...One that has heard me sing at the top of my lungs, "You are my Sunshine" and mean it like I'm working it at a Beyonce concert...

One that has taken my little family on long road trips and heard a two year old "Baaaa" non-stop, without blowing a gasket like this momma....

This van...This Big Girl is kinda a piece of our little family now...And while I'm happy the husband got it right, he deserved this year's April Fools after that Old Man Impala buy...
